KEARNEY – The Kearney Boys Golf team claimed the runner-up finish on their home course Monday, earning the A-2 Runner-up district trophy and a team score of 313 to qualify for the state invite next week at the Norfolk Country Club.
Kearney ended with two Bearcats in the top ten as Owen Bartee (74) ended third while Koji Kitabatake (77) was sixth. The Bearcats ended behind Omaha Westside, shooting an impressive 297 as a team and placing three within the top four.
Cooper Feddersen shot 79 just outside of the top ten, while Dylan Dahlstedt (83) and Perry Swarm (83) aided Kearney to their runner-up finish.
The State meet begins in Norfolk on Tuesday, May 23 and continues to Wednesday 24.
