OMAHA – The Kearney Catholic girls track and field team nearly pushed through in their final meet of the season, ultimately ending as Class C State Track & Field Runner-Up with 40.33 points – tying them at 2nd with Chase County and coming shy of Bishop Neumann’s 43 points.
The Stars’ freshman Alyssa Onnen claimed a gold medal in the pole vault, clearing 12-04.00. She was also the runner-up in the Long Jump (18-5.00) and Triple Jump (37-05.00).
Other point earners included Payton Dzingle’s 5th in the 400 M dash, Margaret Haarberg’s runner-up finish in the high jump, and the 4×100 M relay ending in 5th.
