Kearney (0-1) dropped the contest with seven runs off of thirteen hits with three errors. North Platte (3-0) ended with eight runs on six hits and two errors.

Runza got started early, putting up five runs in the first inning with multiple players knocking down RBIs. Kearney would not add another score until the third inning, and eventually added one last run in the seventh before the final out.
Bryce Andersen started the contest working two and two-thirds innings, giving up three runs on three hits while striking out five.
