KEARNEY – The 65th annual Nebraska Shrine Bowl kicks off Saturday at 6:00 p.m. from UNK’s Ron & Carol Cope Stadium. In preparation for the high school football all-star game, both the North and South teams have been practicing all week.

Plenty of area athletes and coaches represent area teams for both the North and South teams in this year’s game. 

Representing the North includes Ord’s Sam Boettcher and Bridger Rice, Amherst’s Nolan Eloe, Northwest’s Victor Isele, and Grand Island’s Colton Marsh. The North is led by Bellevue West head coach Michael Huffman. 

The South team boasts Aurora’s Jack Allen and Carlos Collazo, Arapahoe’s Dylan Bahe, Kearney High’s Treyven Beckman and Jack Dahlgren, Central City’s Ashton Gragg, Holdrege’s Jackson Hinrichs, Hastings St. Cecilia’s Carson Kudlacek, York’s Dalton Snodgrass, and Adams Central’s Leighton Weber. The South is led by Platteview’s Mark McLaughlin and is assisted by Aurora’s Kyle Petersen and Cole Ashby, York’s Matt Brackhan, and Kearney High’s Brandon Cool, Darren Van Winkle, and Kyle Peters. 

Tickets for the game Saturday can be purchased at neshrinebowl.org. Full game rosters can also be found here. A parade is set to begin the weekend activities in downtown Kearney at 11 AM tomorrow.
