COLUMBUS – A one-run game went in favor of the hometown Columbus Cornerstone Seniors as Pawnee Park’s scoreboard remained relatively quiet in a 1-0 contest Wednesday night. Click here to listen to the broadcast replay.

Kearney (6-6) dropped the contest with no runs scored on three hits and two errors while Columbus earned the victory with one run off of three hits and no errors.

Quinn Foster started the contest for Kearney on the mound and had his most efficient performance of the season, recording eighteen outs in six innings with three walks and four strikeouts.

In a scoreless opening three frames, Columbus put runners in scoring position in the bottom of the fourth as a run by Wyatt Swanson scored off a Kearney error.

Columbus Cornerstone won the matchup with Ryan Eickhoff on the mound working all seven innings and striking out four with only one walk.

Kearney’s Nolan Smith, Jase Blattner, and Jacob Hansen each had a hit for Kearney.

The Runza Seniors take Thursday off before heading to Lincoln for another tournament run this weekend, Friday through Sunday.
