OMAHA NORTH 2025 D-LINEMAN CHOOSES NEBRASKA OVER WEEKEND:

Tyson Terry has been on the recruiting scene for Nebraska fans for quite some time. Now, he’s a member of the 2025 recruiting class.

The Omaha North defensive lineman committed to the Huskers on Friday, giving them a second 2025 commitment as he joins fellow Omaha product Caden VerMaas – a three-star safety out of Millard North who made his pledge in April.

Terry is considered the top recruit in the class of 2025 out of the state of Nebraska.

LEGACY HUSKER PUNTER COMMITS TO BIG RED:

Sam Koch is one of the best punters in Nebraska football history, and he is the best punter in the history of the Baltimore Ravens franchise.

Now, his son will be looking to follow a similar path.

Kamdyn Koch committed to the Huskers on Sunday, choosing to follow in his father’s footsteps and to become the latest Nebraska legacy to join Matt Rhule’s program.

The kicker and punter in the Class of 2024 out of Maryland’s Winter Mills High School picked up a scholarship offer from the Huskers over the weekend. His commitment makes him an official member of their 2024 recruiting class – as opposed to him joining the program as a preferred walk-on, which would not categorize him as an official part of that group.

HUSKER T&F WRAPS UP NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS:

The Nebraska men’s track and field team finished the NCAA Outdoor Championships in a tie for 17th place with 16 points on Friday at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas.

It marked both the most points scored and best finish by the Husker men at the NCAA Outdoor Championships since 2016.

Meanwhile, the Husker women finished eighth on Saturday.

With 25 points and a top-10 finish, the Husker women had their best performance at the NCAA meet since tying for fourth in 2006. The 25 team points came from two individual national champions – Axelina Johansson (shot put) and Rhema Otabor (javelin) – and a fourth-place finish from Maddie Harris in the javelin.

DJOKOVIC CLAIMS 23rd GRAND SLAM TITLE IN FRENCH OPEN FINAL:

History was made at Roland Garros on Sunday as Novak Djokovic won a record 23rd Grand Slam title, the most of any man who has ever played the sport.

Djokovic, 36, began nervously, trailing 3-0 and 4-2 in the first set, with the weight of the occasion seemingly heavy on his shoulders, his feet unusually off balance. But as so often in his career, Djokovic dug himself out of trouble and then pulled away in familiar style to win 7-6 (1), 6-3, 7-5.

Djokovic is the oldest man to win the French Open, and his third Roland Garros crown moves him ahead of Rafael Nadal to 23 Grand Slams, level with Serena Williams.
