OMAHA – The Kearney Runza Seniors dropped their second matchup of the Creighton Prep CWS Tournament, falling 9-6 to Rapid City, SD at Millard South High School. For the first matchup of the tournament against Millard South, click here.

Kearney (11-11) dropped the matchup scoring six runs on seven hits and three errors. Rapid City won with nine runs on twelve hits and one error.

The Rapid City Post 22 squad got started early, thanks to two singles in the bottom of the first and scoring two runs.

The Post 22 Hardhats added two more runs in the third inning, keeping their lead off of two more singles.

Eli Kelley earned the win for Rapid City giving up one hit and one run over four and one third innings, striking out four while walking three. Jacob Hansen took the loss for Kearney, giving up seven runs – with six earned – on nine hits with four strikeouts and walked three.

Bryce Andersen led the team in hits, going 1-for-3 on the day and adding in two runs batted in. Jase Blattner had two hits at four at bats.

Kearney now awaits their next matchup on Thursday, taking on Bryant, Ark. at 7:30 PM at Millard South High School.
