A Las Vegas Man was convicted on methamphetamine charges.

In federal court, Patrick Lewis McKinney, 42, was sentenced to 78 months imprisonment for possessing with intent to distribute methamphetamine. Following his release, McKinney will serve three years of supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.

In August 2022, a traffic stop was initiated on a vehicle McKinney was a passenger in near Lexington.

During the stop law enforcement detected a strong marijuana odor from the vehicle.

A vehicle search revealed 63 grams of methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl pills, kief, and ecstasy pills. In addition, various weapons were located which included two machetes, multiple bladed weapons, a baton taser, and a firearm.

McKinney and the driver, Jeno Paulucci, were arrested.

Paulucci has also pleaded guilty in this case.  He will be sentenced on August 15, 2023.

This case was investigated by the Nebraska State Patrol.
