The Department of Development Services will host a free Introduction to Native Landscape education opportunity on August 8, 2023 from 5:30 – 6:30pm. The class will be held via Zoom and in-person in the South Platte room of the Kearney Public Library, no registration is required.

Mr. Benjamin Vogt, author of Prairie Up: An Introduction to Natural Garden Design and owner of Monarch Gardens LLC, will conduct an introduction to establishing a native garden, from lawn and/or from established beds, while addressing design, management, and plant sources and conduct a short Q&A session and will be joining us via Zoom.

We believe this education opportunity will enhance those lawns already registered as Native Landscapes or for those looking to get started or wanting to gain more understanding.

To learn more regarding the City’s Native Landscape Program or to register your property for Native Landscape please fill out the registration form at City of Kearney – Native Landscape Registration or contact Development Services at 233-3235.
