Former UNK football player sentenced on robbery charges

A former UNK Football player was sentenced of robbery charges.

According to court documents, Tobechuku “Tobey” Okafor, 19, was sentenced to 90 days in jail, and two years probation.

Okafor was sentenced on to two counts of third-degree assault and one count of criminal mischief.

The charges are related to an incident in October 2022 where two UNK students reported Okafor had stolen items from them.

He was taken off the team immediately after the incident.
