HUSKER FOOTBALL TUESDAY PRACTICE COMMENTS – OLINE COACH DONOVAN RAIOLA:

RAIOLA – OLINE CONTINUES TO WORK HARD ON IMPROVEMENT:

Second year offensive line coach Donovan Raiola spoke to the media for the first time in fall camp after Tuesday’s practice, saying that his lineman continue to set new standards each day…

The Huskers are hoping to bring back offensive tackle Teddy Prochazka from injury prior to the season opener on Aug. 31.

RAIOLA – CENTER POSITION LOOKS SOLID:

Offensive Line coach for the Nebraska Football team Donovan Raiola was asked who may be anchoring the line at center after Tuesday’s practice…

Evans-Jenkins has never played a snap yet for Nebraska after arriving as a freshman in December of 2021.

RAIOLA – YEAR TWO OFFENSIVE LINE BUILDS CONSISTENCY:

Donovan Raiola was the only holdover from the Scott Frost staff to stay on under head coach Matt Rhule’s first season. Raiola added after Tuesday’s practice that his second season will aid in consistency with the pipeline…

Nebraska struggled with inconsistent line play last season, as well as losing several key players to injury up front.

RAIOLA – STANDARD IS TO FINISH BLOCKS, EVEN IN PRACTICE:

Donovan Raiola, Nebraska Football’s offensive line coach, was asked after Tuesday’s practice what’s the balance between coaching players to finish their blocks in practice and protecting their defensive teammates…

Nebraska will have fresh faces on the offensive line including redshirt freshman Justin Evans-Jenkins at center, transfer Ben Scott at tackle, along with new potential starters at other positions.

RAIOLA – LINEMAN NEED TO UNDERSTAND STANDARD TO IMPROVE:

Matt Rhule has installed a new “standard” for the Nebraska Football team, and offensive line coach Donovan Raiola has been adamant with his lineman that if they improve, so do the Huskers…

Nebraska opens their season on August 31 on a Thursday night against Minnesota.

HUSKER HOOPS OFFICIALLY ADD FORMER BALL STATE GUARD COLEMAN:

The Nebraska men’s basketball program added another important backcourt piece with size and experience, as Jarron “Boogie” Coleman signed to play with the Huskers for the 2023-24 season.

Coleman, a 6-5, 210-pound guard from Indianapolis, Ind., has started 86 games and totaled more than 1,100 points, 325 assists and 450 rebounds in his college career, which includes stints at Ball State and Missouri.

Coleman earned second-team All-Mid-American Conference honors as Ball State posted a 20-12 record last season.

The former Cardinal guard will have one year of eligibility remaining.
