SIOUX CITY, IA – On Thursday, the Broncos Men’s Soccer program was picked as the top team in the preseason GPAC poll, ahead of Concordia and Midland respectively. The Broncos picked up eight first place votes compared to the Bulldogs three.
In the women’s poll, Jamestown led with seven first place votes but Hastings claimed five to earn a second overall spot.

MEN’S SOCCER:
Hastings College totaled 118 points for first place in the 2023 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Preseason Men’s Soccer Coaches’ Poll. The Broncos garnered eight of twelve first place votes. Hastings was the 2022 GPAC regular season and tournament men’s soccer champions.
Concordia was picked second with 110 points and three first place votes while Midland was picked third with one first place vote and 100 points. Briar Cliff and Concordia round out the top five respectively.
In 2022 Hastings went 10-0-1 in GPAC play and posted an overall record of 16-2-2. Both Hastings and Northwestern advanced to the NAIA Soccer opening round.
The 2023 NAIA Men’s Soccer National Championship will on November 27-December 4, at the Stryker Soccer Complex in Wichita, Kansas. Opening rounds will be November 16-18 on campus sites. The GPAC will receive two automatic bids to the NAIA Postseason in 2023.
The 2023 GPAC men’s soccer season schedule will consist of eleven (11) league games as all 12 teams will compete for the conference crown. Waldorf University will join the GPAC as an affiliate member in men’s and women’s soccer in 2023.

WOMEN’S SOCCER:
The University of Jamestown totaled 138 points for first place in the 2023 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Preseason Women’s Soccer Coaches’ Poll. The Jimmies garnered eleven of thirteen first place votes. Jamestown was the GPAC regular season champion in 2022.
Hastings College was picked second with 133 points and five first place votes. The Broncos won the 2022 GPAC Postseason Tournament Championship and finished third 2022. Briar Cliff picked up the last first place vote in the third spot with 118 points and were the regular season runner-up in 2022. Midland was picked fourth with 112 points, with Concordia rounding out the top five with 95 points.
The 2023 NAIA Women’s Soccer National Championship will be played November 27 – December 4, 2023, at the Ralph Schumacher Soccer Park/Foley Sports Complete in Foley, Alabama. The opening round will be played November 16-18 on campus sits. The GPAC will once again receive two automatic bids to the NAIA Postseason in 2023
