Elba woman arrested for theft

An Elba woman was arrested for theft from a bank Saturday.

According to the St. Paul Police Department, on Saturday officers were called to Archer Credit Union at 1016 2nd Street, in St. Paul NE.

It was discovered that a female suspect had entered the bank for a service and took $600 cash from over the counter when the teller was preoccupied.

After surveillance footage was reviewed and speaking with bank staff, the suspect was identified as Rosal Umphress of Elba.

St. Paul Police and Nebraska State Patrol located Umphress at her residence.

Umphress was arrested for theft by unlawful taking and lodged in Hall County Corrections.

St. Paul Police Department received assistance from the Nebraska State Patrol and FBI.
