Kearney, Nebraska – The Kearney Bearcats won the inaugural Kearney Invite on Saturday, September 2, going 3-0 beating Bellevue East 6-3, Grand Island Northwest 17-8 and Bellevue West 6-0.
In game 1 against Bellevue East, Avery Longshore struck out 2 and allowed 5 hits over 4 1⁄3 innings. Kami Kaskie led the team in hits and RBI.
In game 2, Ava Magnani spread out 7 hits over 4 innings to avenge the loss to the Grand Island Vikings from earlier in the week. Kennedy Lee led the team with 3 hits. The team hit well, scoring 17 runs on 12 hits.
In the last game of the night, Lauren Schmeits pitched a 7 inning shutout, allowing 7 hits while striking out 4. Kelsey Hatcher led the team with 3 hits. Schmeits and Olivia Wright had 2 RBI each.
Kearney improved to 7-5 on the season and will play at Patriot Park against Lincoln East on Tuesday, September 5.

Kearney, Nebraska – The Kearney Bearcats JV went 2-2 on the day beating Grand Island Northwest 9-8, losing to Bellevue East 3-7, beating Bellevue West 11-0 and losing to Central City 6-16.
Kearney JV improved to 5-8 on the season and will play Lincoln East at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, September 5, at Patriot Park
