LINCOLN – Nebraska Football’s Matt Rhule addressed the media earlier today, speaking on Michigan State’s toughness, winning ugly, and much more:

NEBRASKA FOOTBALL MONDAY PRACTICE COMMENTS – MATT RHULE

RHULE – SPARTANS TOUGH MATCHUP:

Matt Rhule, Nebraska Football head coach, opened his Monday morning press conference remarks with insight into the toughness of the Michigan State team his Huskers play on Saturday…

Nebraska is currently tied for the Big Ten West lead with Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.

RHULE – OFFENSIVE LINE WAS BRIGHT SPOT:

Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule had high praise for the Big Red’s offensive line play during the win over Purdue Saturday…

The Pipeline was without three regular starters, having to replace Ethan Piper and Turner Corcoran as both went down with season ending injuries against Northwestern.

RHULE – DEFENSIVE PERFORMANCE COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER:

Husker Football head coach Matt Rhule had a sour taste in his mouth from the Blackshirts performance Saturday, saying the defense had some room to improve…

The Huskers only allowed fourteen points and produced a blocked field goal that turned into a touchdown for Nebraska.

RHULE – REMAINING POSITIVE DESPITE HISTORY:

Nebraska Football had not had a three game winning streak since 2016 until Saturday, as the Big Red took down Purdue at Memorial Stadium. Matt Rhule was asked at his Monday press conference if he needs to keep the team even despite the win streak…

Nebraska is 5-3 overall and 3-2 in Big Ten play, currently tied for the Big Ten west lead.

RHULE – UGLY WINS RELATE BACK TO TOUGHNESS:

Nebraska Football has had to face the music of several “ugly” wins over the past few weeks. Fortunately for head coach Matt Rhule, he sees the wins as nothing but showcasing his team’s attitude…

The Huskers face Michigan State in East Lansing on Saturday for their first road contest since heading to Champaign at the start of October.

RHULE – HAARBERG BEAT UP, STILL THE QUARTERBACK:

Heinrich Haarberg has only lost once as the starter for the Nebraska Football team, and his head coach Matt Rhule has been pleased with his efforts. Rhule added during his Monday press conference however, they would like to see the Kearney Catholic alum not get beat up as often…

Rhule added that he spoke with Haarberg about when to slide and protect himself, and when the right opportunity arises to fight for extra yardage.
