State Football Championships Take Center Stage in Lincoln

LINCOLN – The final week of the high school football season takes place in Lincoln’s Memorial Stadium today and Tuesday to determine the champions for all classes for the state of Nebraska. 

The 6-Man championship game wrapped up Friday night, as Sumner-Eddyville-Miller closed out Hay Springs with a late blocked kick to preserve their 21-20 win and first state football championship. 

Kicking off action today in Lincoln for 8-Man action is Class D1’s Exeter-Milligan/Friend battling top-seeded Stanton at 10:15 AM. Class D2 pits championship regular Sandhills/Thedford and Wyont at 2:45 PM. Finally, the nightcap has the unbeaten Bennington Badgers and Omaha Skutt Catholic in a rematch from Week One.

CLASS D1: Exeter-Milligan/Friend v. Stanton – 10:15 AM

CLASS B: Omaha Skutt Catholic v. Bennington – 7:15 PM

 

TUESDAY SCHEDULE:

CLASS C1: Boone Central v. Wahoo – 10:15 AM

CLASS C2: Ord v. Norfolk Catholic – 2:45 PM

CLASS A: Omaha Westside v. Elkhorn South – 7:15 PM
