LINCOLN – Two key pieces for the 2024 Nebraska Football team are set to return for the Huskers as Isaac Gifford and Bryce Benhart have announced their plans to return for another season in Lincoln via a social media post.
Gifford, a rover for the Blackshirts last season, manned the middle of the Huskers 3-3-5 defense. He led Nebraska with 86 total tackles, including 6.5 for loss. His total tackles earned him the most by a Nebraska defensive back in nine seasons. Gifford was also an All-Big Ten honorable mention selection announced in late November.
Benhart was one of the stalwarts of the Nebraska offensive line this past year, becoming the only Husker offensive player to start all 12 games this season. Benhart has 41 career starts, tied for the most in school history by an offensive lineman. He played 748 offensive snaps this past season, among the top for offensive lineman.
Both remain with one year of eligibility remaining.
