UNK Volleyball, Volleyball Day in Nebraska

KEARNEY – Four members of the Nebraska Kearney volleyball team have earned Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Communicators (CSC).

This award went through a change prior the 2022-23 academic year and had additional changes this past summer. To qualify now, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.50 cumulative GPA and have played in 90% of their teams’ games during the recently completed season. In addition, schools can nominate no more than four in volleyball.Previously, Academic All-District nominees could’ve posted a 3.25 cumulative GPA, there was no game percentage requirement with honorees selected by a random vote. Now, all qualifiers receive Academic All-District distinction. UNK’s qualifiers this year are redshirt junior Lauren Taubenheim (Lincoln Pius), junior Asha Regier (Newton, Kan.), redshirt sophomore Peyton Neff (North Platte) and true sophomore Trista Marx (Limon, Colo.). Neff is a repeat selection with a random vote of CSC’s from Division II selecting an Academic All-American team later this month.The Lopers went 29-6 (16-4 MIAA) this past fall, reaching the NCAA Tournament for a 24th consecutive year and finishing 10th in the final AVCA Division II poll.
