MINDEN — A Kearney business owner will appear in Kearney County District Court in December after being charged with sexual assault of a child and felony child abuse.
Alan Mais, 60, of Heartwell has been charged in Kearney County with nine counts of third-degree sexual assault of a child, each a Class 3A felony and intentional child abuse – no injury, a Class 3A felony.
He is set to appear in court on Dec. 21 at 2 p.m.
Mais is listed as the owner of The Camera Doctor in Kearney.
The court documents detailing the charges were ordered sealed, but the complaint says the alleged charges occurred between July 1 and Nov. 13. An arrest warrant for Mais was issued on Nov. 14.
Mais posted bail, 10 percent of $300,000, on Nov. 17. He is barred from contacting the victim or anyone under 18 years old. He also cannot access his home in Heartwell.
