NEBRASKA – The Overton Eagles’ volleyball team continues to rack up accolades for their past championship season.
Head coach for the Eagles Hayley Ryan earned the 2023-24 Nebraska Coaches Association Hudl Volleyball Coach of the Year for her past season performance for Overton. The announcement was posted on Monday by the NCA.
Overton finished the 2023 season as the Class D2 State Champions, going 32-3 on the season while not losing a set in the entirety of the NSAA Volleyball Championships to Central Valley, Meridian, and Cambridge. The Eagles earned revenge over the Trojans, as Overton fell in five sets to Cambridge in the sub-district final.
Overton won 79 sets over their season, dropping only eleven the entire year. They were led by Coach Ryan’s daughters – JoLee, a Wayne State commit, and Daisy. JoLee was a powerhouse, earning 430 kills on the season while hitting .408 for the season. She added 64 aces, 49 total blocks, and 284 digs.
