A former Kearney High Bearcat is moving on in his athletic career.

 

Dawson Stutz, a Sophomore infielder at Garden City Community College, announced his commitment to continue his athletic career at St. Edward’s University.

 

A 2021 graduate, Stutz played in 53 games last year for the Broncbusters, batting .242 with 37 hits and 26 RBI’s. He had a fielding percentage of .949 last season, only committing eight errors.

 

Through 27 games this year, Stutz has a .313 batting average with 25 hits and 16 RBI’s. He also sports a .971 fielding percentage. Stutz has played at third base, second base, and the designated hitter position this season.

 

St. Edward’s is a Division II School in Austin, Texas, competing in the Lone Star Conference. Currently the Hilltoppers are 15-17 on the season.
