GRAND ISLAND — A police investigation into sexually explicit images of a minor being shared has led to the arrest of a Grand Island man.
According to the Grand Island Police Department, on Tuesday, May 7, officers were made aware of sexually explicit messages being sent between a male, 19 or older and a juvenile female, 14 or younger, within the Grand Island city limits.
Further information was shared regarding a possible sexual assault.
According to documents filed with the Hall County Court, Michael Salas-Ogden, 19, reportedly subjected a 13-year-old female to sexual penetration within the city limits.
GIPD officers contacted Salas-Ogden on Friday, May 10 and was arrested for first degree sexual assault.
Salas-Ogden has been charged with first degree sexual assault, a Class 2 felony and contribute the delinquency of a minor, a Class 1 misdemeanor.
An arraignment was held on Monday, May 13 and Salas-Ogden’s bail was set at 10 percent of $150,000.
A preliminary hearing has been set for June 11 at 9:30 a.m.
