YORK, NE – A York man was arrested following a pursuit Friday.
According to the York County Sheriff’s Office, on Friday at 9:10 p.m. a deputy attempted a traffic stop on a sedan on West 25th near N Division Avenue in York. The vehicle failed to stop and sped away from deputies, initiating a pursuit.
The sedan fled southbound on S. Lincoln Avenue from West 25th street and then turned westbound on to West 19th street. At the intersection of West 19th and N Division, the sedan lost control and struck a mailbox along with a phone line box.

The driver, Gavin Prince, 20, of York was arrested on several charges, including Operate a Motor Vehicle to Avoid Arrest, No Proof of Insurance, Leaving the Scene of Property Damage Accident-Attempted, Willful Reckless Driving-1st offense, Speeding 36+ Over Posted Speed Limit, Violate a Stop Sign, and Failure to Use Turn Signal.
Prince was lodged into York County Corrections.
