
NEBRASKA – Kearney Catholic and Overton claimed outright state titles on Wednesday, with plenty of area teams well represented on final state golf tallies.
In Class A, Kearney ended sixth overall (634) while Dylan Dahlstedt led the Bearcats with a top twenty finish (153). He tied Grand Island’s Prestin Vilai for nineteenth.
Class B’s title in Scottsbluff was earned by Norris (630), with York (640) third and Adams Central (693) 9th.
Class C had Kearney Catholic as the overall champ while St. Paul was third (329), and Grand Island Central Catholic ended fourth (336). Doniphan-Trumbull ended fifth (339) and Amherst sixth (346). Samuel Wells of St. Paul was the individual champion (73) taking the playoff win over Kearney Catholic’s Nash Malone.
Class D in North Platte had Overton as the champ, with Loomis (695) fifth, Lawrence-Nelson (697) sixth. Sandy Creek’s Jake Dane finished as the individual champion (150) while Loomis’ Tyson Essex (151) tied for a runner-up spot.
