GRAND ISLAND — A family mausoleum was broken into and a vase and urns containing ashes of the deceased were stolen from the Grand Island Cemetery.
According to the Grand Island Police Department the cemetery superintendent reported that an unknown subject broke the lock on a mausoleum and took a vase and two urns that contained ashes.
The family that owns and maintains the mausoleum reported that the lock was intact two weeks ago when they last visited on Friday, May 17.
The case is currently under investigation by the GIPD.
