BEAVER CITY — The Furnas County Sheriff’s Office and other agencies are continuing efforts to verify sightings of a mountain lion and cubs within Beaver City municipal limits.
As of this time, no concrete evidence has emerged that would confirm earlier reports.
We would continue to urge residents to carry on normal activities but with a bit higher awareness of their surroundings. We would also ask that anyone that has information, possible sighting of such an animal or evidence of its presence, immediately contact the Sheriff’s Office.
We will continue efforts over the next several days to verify reports and take appropriate steps to inform the public of possible concerns, as well as work with other agencies to take the most appropriate steps in handling the wildlife when/if needed.
