GRAND ISLAND — A TJ Maxx employee was arrested for stealing clothing and accessory items over a period starting in February 2024.
According to the Grand Island Police Department, an officer would respond to the TJ Maxx location at 201 Wilmar Ave. in reference to an employee stealing items.
The loss prevention staff would advise they had begun an investigation into Amy Wiese, a TJ Maxx employee, back on Feb. 26, 2024.
The staff said they were able to find video footage of multiple incidents ranging back to December 2023. It was noted that Wiese would take clothes, purses, shoes and other clothing items while working.
Loss prevention staff valued the average of items taken to be $113 per incident, making the total items lost to amount to around $7,797.
Officers would make contact with Wiese, who would admit to taking the items.
She would be placed under arrest for theft by unlawful taking, over $5,000 and would be booked into the Hall County Department of Corrections.
