By Alex Hammeke Jun 12, 2024 | 9:47 AM

Errors once again doomed the Kearney Misko Seniors in their 8-7 loss over the Hastings Five Points Bank Chiefs. It was an overall split for Kearney, as the Pinnacle Bank Post 52 Juniors won over Hastings Johnson Imperial Homes, 5-2.

Kearney was able to pick up some big hits early, with a Ryan Throckmorton double in the first and a pair of Jake Hansen doubles in the middle innings, but Hastings would start the contest by scoring four runs in the bottom of the first. Kearney would scratch their first run across when Hansen would score in the top of the second, but Hastings would keep the lead at four runs with a run in the bottom of the second.

Kearney would use multiple walks and a Hastings error to score five runs in the top of the third. Tyson Cabela, Throckmorton, Kegan Brand, Jase Blattner, and Hansen would all score.

Kearney would force a score in the top of the seventh to tie the game at 7, but Hastings would add the game winning run in the bottom of the seventh.

The Misko Seniors are back in action this weekend in Fayetteville, Arkansas for a five-day tournament.
