GRAND ISLAND — A Grand Island man was arrested for terroristic threats on Saturday, June 12 after he threatened a group with what turned out to be a BB gun.
According to the Grand Island Police Department, officers were dispatched to W. Capital Ave. regarding a weapons offense.
When officers arrived on scene, a group of four individuals said that Justin Johnson had pointed, what they thought was a real firearm and said he was going to kill them.
Officers say that all four believed that Johnson would shoot them, and they feared for their lives.
A search of Johnson’s residence later recovered a BB gun that matched the description provided by the group. According to the GIPD a BB gun is capable of producing a substantial risk of serious bodily injury if fired at people.
Johnson would be arrested for four counts of terroristic threats and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony. He would be booked into the Hall County Department of Corrections.
