LEXINGTON — No foul play is suspected after a 39-year-old Lexington male was found deceased in an alleyway during the evening hours of Thursday, June 13.

According to Chief Paul Schwarz, Lexington Police Department, at 6:15 p.m. officers responded to an adult male subject that appeared to be passed out lying next to a building in an alley of the 100 block of W. 6th St.

Members of the Lexington Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the scene and along with officers, determined the male to be deceased.

The initial scene was processed by the LPD and the initial investigation indicated the male was a 39-year-old Lexington man, who was homeless in the community for the past one to two months.

The man has been identified but his identity is being withheld until the next of kin has been notified, Schwarz said. The LPD is actively searching for any family.

Evidence at the scene, coupled with the preliminary autopsy findings suggest a rear head injury, likely from a backwards fall. No foul play is suspected, Schwarz said.

“Our thoughts are with the family during this difficult time,” Schwarz said.
