LEXINGTON — The 39-year-old man found deceased in a Lexington alleyway on Thursday, June 13 has been identified by the Lexington Police Department.

According to Chief Paul Schwarz, the man was identified as Genaro Martinez-Martinez. He was noted from the United States and had been homeless in the Lexington area for the past one to two months.

The LPD has been working with Homeland Security investigators but have been unsuccessful in locating the next of kin for Martinez-Martinez.

Per the LPD, at 6:15 p.m. officers responded to an adult male subject that appeared to be passed out lying next to a building in an alley of the 100 block of W. 6th St.

Members of the Lexington Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the scene and along with officers, determined the male to be deceased.

Evidence at the scene, coupled with the preliminary autopsy findings suggest a rear head injury, likely from a backwards fall. No foul play is suspected, Schwarz said.
