ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – Per a report from the Alaska Sports Report, the University of Nebraska-Kearney may continue to see competition for their 2023 attendance record.
The University of Alaska-Anchorage has challenged its fans to “Pack the House” per a press release posted by the Alaska Sports Report detailing a ‘4K In the Door’ event. The event is being co-hosted with the inaugural Alaska Volleyball Day set for Nov. 16 as UAA has partnered with the Alaska Sports Activities Association.
The event for the Seawolves will feature half-price tickets and other promotional giveaways.
The Loper Volleyball program reclaimed their NCAA Div. II regular-season attendance record on Sept. 6, 2023 in a sweep victory over in-state Peru State. 4,003 fans attended the contest at UNK’s Health & Sports Center. The Lopers had the original record, set in 1996, when 3,520 fans arrived to watch the Lopers battle then-rival Nebraska-Omaha.
Alaska-Anchorage broke the record in 2022 after drawing 3,888 fans in a sweep of Central Washington.

(the D2 volleyball attendance record is currently held by Nebraska-Kearney, who UAA claimed it from briefly in 2022 - @Amie_Just a good reason for a return trip to AK, perhaps ☺️) pic.twitter.com/15LELy4aD8
