UNK’s former interim men’s basketball coach is staying within the conference.
The University of Central Missouri announced that Antoine Young will join the Mules as an assistant coach for the upcoming season.
“We are excited to announce the hiring of Antoine Young and welcome him and his wife Whitney to the University of Central Missouri and the Mules Basketball program,” UCM Men’s Basketball head coach Adam Bohac said in a press release. “Coach Young has a servant’s heart which allows him to connect and build authentic relationships with the players and everyone he meets. His tremendous success as a college player at Creighton University and his professional playing experience along with his past MIAA coaching and recruiting experience at Pitt State and Nebraska-Kearney will be a huge asset to our current and future players. I am excited to work alongside Coach Young.”
Young was with the Lopers for the past six seasons, serving as the interim head coach this past year when Kevin Lofton departed after the first game of the season. He was also an assistant coach at fellow MIAA school Pitt State before joining the Lopers.
