HASTINGS — The BNSF Railway is performing maintenance work that requires closing of Showboat Boulevard north of U.S. Highway 6.
The crossing will close around 9 a.m. on Monday, July 1 and is scheduled to open before 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2. The BNSF Railway hired Road Safe Traffic Systems, Inc. of El Dorado, Kansas to set up a detour.
Highway traffic wanting to use the northeast truck route will follow a marked detour with detour signs supplemented by a variable message sign before the truck route.
Detour and Road Closed Ahead signs will be used for traffic on the northeast truck route, Seventh Street, 12th Street and 26th Street to advise drivers of the road closure.
