An LED kite flies at the first Grand Island night kite flight north of Starr Elementary School, (Carol Bryant, Central Nebraska Today)
GRAND ISLAND — Grand Island hosted its first LED night kit flight on June 28 and 4th annual kite festival on June 29 and June 30.
The night flight was in a field north of Starr Elementary School. The kit festival was at the Veterans Athletic Complex soccer fields.
Friends of the Parks hosted the event. It also was a JBS Hometown Strong sponsored event.
The group has a Facebook page, “Grand Island Kite Festival.”
Professional kite flyers were on hand for demonstrations.
