GIBBON — A Union Pacific coal train derailed in Gibbon during on Sunday, July 7.
According to Union Pacific, at 2 a.m., around 15 train cars carrying coal derailed on the eastern edge of Gibbon near the intersection of Highway 30 and Pawnee Road.
There were no injuries, clean up is underway and the incident is under investigation.
The Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
