ELM CREEK — After passing through the Sandhills and north central Nebraska, a severe thunderstorm moved through eastern Dawson and western Buffalo counties, becoming more outflow dominant as it did so.

An outflow-dominant storm is a storm whose downdraft has taken precedence over the updraft, this usually occurs later in its life as the storm is starting to weaken, but it can still pose a risk of damaging hail and straight line winds.
