HASTINGS — The popular Breakfast Runza that came to Lincoln after April Fools Day will be available in limited supply at a location in Hastings.

According to Runza Restaurants, on Wednesday, July 23 at 7 a.m., they will have a limited supply of their sausage breakfast Runza sandwiches at the W. 2nd St. location in Hastings.

They are fundraising for Threads of Grace, which was founded by Kelly Augustin and Julie Samuelson, is non-profit organization dedicated to serving children aged birth to 19 years.

“We stand by those entering foster care and any child in Adams County going through a personal or family crisis. Making a Difference, One Child at a Time. Threads of Grace, we’re dedicated to supporting children in need,” per Threads of Grace.

This isn’t the first time the Breakfast Runza has made an appearance.

On social media on April 1, Runza Restaurants announced that the Breakfast Runza would be available at one location.

Those who dismissed it might have been surprised when Runza announced on April 2, that the one-time promotion would be available starting at 8 a.m. at the 56th and Holdrege St. in Lincoln.

Runza announced they were raising funds for youth hunger organizations and customers were asked to bring a cash donation to help benefit those in need.

The rush for the breakfast item was well anticipated, to the point Lincoln Transportation and Utilities announced that LTU Traffic Engineering will separate commuter and restaurant traffic with traffic cones around the northbound lane.

A traffic map was even released to show how drivers could access the location from the north.

The planning was well worth the time, because traffic attempting to access the drive-thru stretched around the building and well down 56th St.
