Hall Co. commissioners vote to vacate right-of-way on Pine Street east of courthouse

GRAND ISLAND – Hall County Commissioners voted 7-0 Tuesday, July 30, to vacate right-of-way along Pine Street east of the Hall County Courthouse.

The change is needed because of the upcoming addition to the Hall County Courthouse.

Dave Ziska, senior project engineer with Olsson Engineering of Grand Island, said the issue would next go before the Regional Planning Commission. From there, City Council approval of the issue would occur.

In another matter, the Commissioners voted 7-0 to approve an agreement with Sozo Family Services to provide mental health services for the Hall County Department of Corrections. The county will pay $9,208 monthly for the services. Services will be provided 55 hours per week, year around.

The County Board of Commissioners approved 7-0 awarding an engineering contract to Spiehs Lewis for five miles of Husker Highway for $14,350.

The Board is in the process of getting tile floors restored in the Hall County Administration Building. The Board voted 7-0 to pay Ziller Tile $35,000 to do restoration work in the building.

Also, the Board voted 7-0 to sell three vehicles to the city of Grand Island: a 2009 Chevy 3500 for $3,800, a 2010 Ford E-450 for $5,400, and a 2013 Ford E-450 for $7,075.
