New traffic signal at 56th Street and 11th Avenue, (Brian Neben, Central Nebraska Today)
KEARNEY — The City of Kearney Public Works Department announces that the new traffic signal at the intersection of 56th Street and 11th Avenue is nearing completion. Crews will begin activating the signal beginning Wednesday, July 31st.
Initially, the signal will operate in “flash mode” similar to the way traffic signals around the City operate at night, before transitioning to full operation.
Motorists should begin following the new signal indications as soon as the signal heads are activated; including when the signal initially is put into flash mode.
Crews may be conducting testing and/or adjusting programming over the next week, so please stay alert when
driving in the area.
