The Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatality accident involving a single vehicle – bicycle crash. The bicyclist, a 48 year old Kearney man, has died as a result of the crash.
The car was driven by a 39 year old Kearney man. The crash occurred at approximately 5:20 a.m. on Thursday Aug. 1, 2024.
According to preliminary investigation, a bicyclist and a car were traveling eastbound on East 56th Street, just east of Antelope Avenue about a mile outside the city limits of Kearney. The car collided with the rear of the bicycle.
Deputies were assisted at the scene by members of the Kearney Police Department, Kearney / Buffalo County Fatality Accident Investigation (FAIT) team, Kearney Volunteer Fire Department, CHI GSH Paramedics, Buffalo County Highway Department and the Buffalo County Attorney’s Office.
Investigation is ongoing at this time.
