BLUE HILL — The Blue Hill Aquatic Center has announced that they will honor season passes to the Hastings Aquacourt after it closed for the season early due to a near drowning incident involving a 13-year-old Japanese native who was visiting as part of an exchange program.

The following is a part of the statement from the Blue Hill Aquatic Center:

Our hearts ache with you as we reflect on the recent tragedy at the Hastings Aquacourt. The news of the young girl who is bravely fighting for her life has deeply touched us. We extend our heartfelt prayers and support to her, her family and friends during this unimaginably difficult time. We also want to offer our deepest compassion to the dedicated employees who were present that day and who have been profoundly affected by this event.

In times like this, the strength of our community is vital.

We want to do our part in bringing some comfort and stability to you all. Therefore we are extending an offer to honor the Hastings Aquacourt season passes at our pool. We hope this gesture can provide a small amount of relief and allow you to continue enjoying the summer, even as we all hold the young girl and her loved ones in our thoughts.

Our facility is ready to welcome you with open arms. We are committed to maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment, much like the one you cherish at the Hastings Aquacourt. Please bring your season passes to our pool and we will ensure you can make the most of the remaining summer days.
