Heartland United Way hosting 9th annual Imagination Bacon & Brews for Books event tonight

GRAND ISLAND — Heartland United Way will hold its 9th Annual Imagination Bacon & Brews for Books tonight Friday, August 9, 2024 from 6 – 9 p.m. at Heartland Events Center (Fonner Park). The event is sold with 800 tickets sold.

A special Heartland United Way campaign introduction and announcement will be featured at 7:30 p.m. Tom and Kim Dinsdale will reveal the 22nd vehicle they have generously donated to the Heartland United Way.

Imagination Bacon is the signature fundraiser for Heartland United Way’s Imagination Library program that provides age-appropriate books every month in the mail to enrolled children ages 0-5 in Hall, Hamilton, Howard and Merrick Counties. Last year 3534 children were served in the Imagination Library program.

Imagination Bacon is held at Heartland Events Center at Fonner Park where there will be live and silent auctions as well as live entertainment by Tim Zach. Every ticket holder will receive a pork sandwich or brat & chips, samplings of savory bacon bites and unique craft beers, wines, spirits and a souvenir tasting glass.
