GRAND ISLAND — A 12-year-old juvenile male was referred for charges after he allegedly assaulted a 40-year-old couple during the morning hours of Tuesday, Aug. 20.

The Grand Island Police Department was contacted after a 41-year-old woman reported that a juvenile male had punched her in the chest causing her pain at an apartment on North Front St. around 6:46 a.m.

The 49-year-old male said the juvenile threw a pair of wire cutters at him, which caused a laceration on his arm.

The couple advised the juvenile had taken a knife and made a stabbing motion toward them before the knife was eventually wrestled away from him.

The juvenile will be referred to the Hall County Attorney’s Office for second degree assault, third degree assault and terroristic threats.
