KEARNEY — The Buffalo County Board of Commissioners announces a new location for the Driver Licensing Office that will open on August 29, 2024.

The new office is located at 321 Central Avenue Kearney, and will be open Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This new location replaces the current location at 1512 Central Avenue, Buffalo County Courthouse.

As more space is needed for county services within the courthouse, the Driver Licensing Office will be moved to a new location. Moving the Driver Licensing Office to a different location will come with some changes. All driver licensing services will take place at the new location, 321 Central Avenue, but all payments will still be collected at the Buffalo County Treasurer’s Office located at 1512 Central Avenue.

This new location will be an improvement for the DMV as it will allow for more off-street parking and will increase the amount of space that they have to meet the needs that arise from their customers.

Driver license services will not be available at either location on Monday Aug. 26, 2024, Tuesday Aug. 27, 2024, or Wednesday Aug. 28, 2024 to allow for operational equipment to be transferred.

If circumstances arise during this transition that cannot be met by the online services or expanded surrounding county hours, please contact the Driver Licensing Services division directly at (402) 471-3861.

Dozens of online services are also available at www.dmv.nebraska.gov.

Most customers can renew their driver’s license and State ID cards online, as well as update their address or order a replacement license.
