KEARNEY — Business leaders, early childcare providers, caregivers, parents, and community members in Buffalo County are invited to a conversation about early childhood.

On Tuesday, Sept. 10, at noon, a community conversation will take place at ESU 10 to identify community challenges, discuss solutions, and connect with community experts on local resources for early childhood.

As part of this community conversation, Mike Feeken, with First Five Nebraska, will discuss new employer tax credits. “Tax incentives are one of several strategies to help spur child care investment where the market alone is insufficient. Businesses that utilize Nebraska’s new Child Care Tax Credit may have a significant edge in anchoring talent and maximizing productivity,” said Feeken.

Along with Feeken, Natalie Hanna (Early Childhood Educator), Amy, Vinton (Early Childhood Educator), and Alexandra Dillon (Early Learning Connection Grant Manager) will make up the panel of community experts.

The goal of the meeting is to highlight the affordability and accessibility crisis within childcare and to gather input from business owners on the design of a website to help match childcare provider needs with businesses interested in helping.
RSVP to reserve lunch by contacting Tana Miller, tmiller@bcchp.org.
