Three new members join Good Samaritan Foundation Board

KEARNEY — CHI Health Good Samaritan Foundation welcomes Karen Bigelow, Krista Fritson and Deb Schroeder to its Board of Directors. They began serving a 3-year term at the start of the hospital’s fiscal year 2025.

Bigelow, Fritson, and Schroeder are joining current board members P.J. O’Neill, Chair; Melissa Scott-Pandorff, Vice-Chair; Jon Watts, Secretary; Dick Beechner; Ellen Gitt; Steve Lowe; Tim Mannlein; Bob Rycek; Cindy Walker and Rita Weber.

They replace outgoing board members Marsha Wilkerson and Lois Thalken.

The CHI Health Good Samaritan Foundation supports the healthcare services, research and education mission of CHI Health Good Samaritan. Established in 1985, the Foundation seeks, receives and administers donations for the benefit of Good Samaritan and its related departments, programs and services. The Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors composed of local leaders who have commitment to the importance of philanthropy and fulfilling our mission.

Karen Bigelow, retired elementary teacher, lives in Kearney. In the past, Bigelow has volunteered with several local organizations including Rowe Sanctuary, Kearney Public Schools Foundation and the Kearney Library.

Krista Fritson, a Professor and Clinical Psychologist at the University of Nebraska-Kearney, and her husband Randy live in Kearney. Fritson currently volunteers with several local organizations including HelpCare Clinic, Buffalo County Wellness Coalition and Kearney Therapeutic Horseback Riding.

Deb Schroeder, the retired Assistant Vice-President of the Nebraska University system, and her husband Fred live in Shelton. Schroeder currently volunteers with the Buffalo County Health Partners, Kearney Rescue Cats and CHI Health Good Samaritan.
