GRAND ISLAND — A Grand Island firefighter was arrested after he sent sexual messages to a 13-year-old girl, according to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.
On Aug. 17 at 6:40 p.m. the Hall County Sheriffs Office responded to an address within Grand Island city limits reference a possible sex offense.
During the investigation it was determined Jared Stockwell, 47 years of age, of Grand Island, sent indecent, lewd, lascivious, and obscene messages that were sexual in nature to a 13-year-old female.
Stockewell is listed as a member of the Grand Island Fire Department. Stockwell has placed on administrative leave until the investigation is finished.
On Aug. 28 a warrant for Stockwell’s arrest was issued. Around 11:17 a.m., Hall County Sheriff’s Office deputies contacted Stockwell, and he was placed under arrest for the following offences.
- Enticement by Electronic Communication Device 28-833 (Class IV Felony)
- Child Abuse 28-707 (Class IIIA Felony)
The Hall County Sheriff’s Office has asked the courts to seal the affidavits in this case, as we do with similar cases involving juvenile victims. The investigations is ongoing.
