MERRICK CO. — On Saturday, Sept. 7 at approximately 3:56 p.m., the Merrick County Sheriff’s Office was detailed north of Chapman near 3rd Road in rural Merrick County to investigate a report of a airplane that crashed in a field.
Investigation concluded that a plane, occupied by a pilot and two occupants was enroute to Grand Island and due to low fuel, the pilot attempted to land the plane in a field while avoiding the powerlines and managed to land the plane causing minimal damages.
All passengers were uninjured.
