Arrest made after a pregnant woman was assaulted in presence of a child

GRAND ISLAND — A man was arrested after a pregnant woman was assaulted in the presence of a one-year-old child during the afternoon of Saturday, Sept. 7.

According to the Grand Island Police Department, a 20-year-old woman reported being assaulted by the father of their one-year-old child and unborn child, she is seven weeks pregnant, while at their residence.

The woman had visible injuries consistent with being assaulted. Per the GIPD, the assault took place in the presence of their one-year-old child.

The man, Taylin Murphy, was arrested for third degree domestic assault on a pregnant woman and negligent child abuse.

He was later booked into the Hall County Department of Corrections.
